Overview
Achilles tendinopathy involves irritation and reduced load tolerance of the Achilles tendon. Symptoms commonly include stiffness, pain or sensitivity around the tendon, especially with walking, running, jumping or calf loading.
How the Ankle Balance Board Can Support Your Training
Ankle Balance Board training can help you work on a progressive program that combines foot and ankle mobility, balance and controlled strengthening of the calf and surrounding stabilizers.
Your Training Path
Start with the mobility exercises, then build through the strength exercises in the order shown. This is a progression—not a one-session checklist. Quality and control come before difficulty.

How to Progress Through This Pathway
M1 Big Toe Extension. Progress through M2 → M5 → M6 one step at a time, using the symptom response later that day and the next morning as part of the decision.
S1 → S2 → S3 → S4. Do not increase exercise level and board difficulty at the same time.
A well-tolerated mobility exercise can stay in the warm-up as strength work is added.
Progress only when all four checks are positive: Control + Comfort + Completion + Next-Day Check.
Advanced Board Configurations
Once you can perform the exercises in this pathway with good control, you can explore these optional board configurations for an extra balance and stability challenge. These configurations change the board setup; they do not replace the exercise instructions.
