Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions about the Just RoQH Ankle Balance Board
What is this board designed for?
The Just RoQH Ankle Balance Board is designed to improve ankle stability, mobility, foot strength, balance and coordination. It can be used for rehabilitation, injury prevention, athletic performance and everyday ankle and foot training.
How do I start using the board for the first time?
Start on a hard, flat, non-slip surface and stand next to a wall or sturdy chair for light support. Begin slowly and focus on controlled movement before progressing to more challenging exercises.
Which level should I use first?
Beginners should start with the slats. Once you feel stable and confident, you can progress to the balance balls for a more advanced challenge.
What is the difference between the slats and the balance balls?
The slats are the beginner setup and provide more stability and control. The balance balls create greater instability, requiring more ankle control, balance, and foot strength.
How do I switch between training levels?
To switch levels, remove the slats from the Velcro underside of the board using the specially designed side notch, known as the Quick Release System. This unique design makes it fast and easy to remove the slats without excessive force. Then attach the balance balls for a more advanced challenge. To remove the balance balls, slide the included scraper tool underneath the ball and lift it off smoothly.
What is the Quick Release System?
The Quick Release System is a unique feature of the Just RoQH Ankle Balance Board. Each slat includes a specially designed side notch that makes it easy to lift and remove from the Velcro underside of the board. Unlike many traditional balance boards where attachments can be difficult to remove, the Quick Release System allows you to switch setups quickly and effortlessly. The included scraper tool can also be used if needed, but it is especially designed for removing the balance balls.
Why is the Just RoQH Ankle Balance Board different from other ankle balance boards?
Unlike many traditional balance boards, the Just RoQH board features a Quick Release System with specially designed side notches on the slats. This makes switching levels faster and easier than boards where attachments are difficult to remove. Combined with two interchangeable training levels, premium bamboo construction and a compact design, it offers a versatile solution for rehabilitation, injury prevention and performance training.
Should I use it barefoot or with shoes?
For the best grip, foot activation and control, we recommend using the board barefoot or with grip socks. Flat athletic shoes can also be used if preferred.
Is it normal to feel shaky at first?
Yes. Your stabilizing muscles in the feet, ankles and lower legs are being challenged in a new way. Small amounts of shaking are normal and usually improve as your strength and coordination develop.
How often should I train?
Beginners should start with 2–3 sessions per week for 5–10 minutes per foot. More advanced users can train 3–5 times per week for 10–15 minutes per foot, depending on their goals and experience.
Can I use it for plantar fasciitis, weak ankles, or Achilles recovery?
Yes. The board is commonly used to help improve foot and ankle strength, balance, mobility and stability. It may be beneficial for individuals experiencing plantar fasciitis, weak ankles, or Achilles-related discomfort. Progress gradually and always follow the guidance of your healthcare professional.
What if I feel pain while using it?
Stop immediately if you experience sharp pain, swelling, dizziness or instability. Exercise should be challenging but not painful. If you are recovering from an injury, always follow the recommendations of your physician or physical therapist.
